J.M. Haynes writes novels, short stories, essays and poems.
She publishes a book of poetry for every year of her life, starting with “26.” She creates illustrations and collages for her poetry.
She is currently in developmental edits for a science fiction novel ten years in the making.
J.M. Haynes writes science fiction, magi cal realism, noir, horror, historical fiction, and realistic fiction. Themes woven throughout her work are redemption, hope, appreciation of beauty, self acceptance, persisting against all odds and capturing the wonder of the world and sometimes fantastical things happen.

Mission & Values
J.M. Haynes hopes to create a body of work that holds up a mirror to society and reflect the truth: the trials and the struggles, the universal search for love and a place to belong and the indomitable human spirit. There is so much beauty in the world, crashing waves, a bright full moon, quiet moments with family, small victories and seeing the good guys win. J.M. Haynes urges her readers to not only notice, but celebrate these small wonders.
Themes woven through her work include redemption, hope, equality, appreciation of beauty, self-acceptance, persisting against all odds, and capturing the wonder of the world and the fantastical things that sometimes happen.

J.M. Haynes is currently working on several projects. She is working on “29,” the next compilation of poetry in her yearly collection. She is in the process of editing her first science fiction novel and exploring new (to her) methods of storytelling.
